Video-essays & hybrid animations

just wondering... is a collaborative and multimedia project that produces hybrid animated essays on philosophical, sociological and political themes, critical to the status quo. Co-founded by Aron Nor and Mina Mimosa, and developed with Maria Martelli from early on, the audio-visual productions address themes such as anti-speciesism, posthumanism, social and environmental justice while focusing on the Human-Animal relationship and on the exploration of alternative visions to it. As part of the project, Aron Nor is researching, writing and editing texts, engaging in the recording process, making audio-visual edits, creating digital animations, and directing the videos and films produced.

Research

gând vagabond... meaning ”stray thought...” in Romanian, is an ongoing research project, written and produced by Aron Nor, with illustrations by Mina Mimosa, about the "stray dog problem" in Romania. The research addresses a series of political and philosophical questions related to the identities, roles, relationships, spaces, and imaginaries that exist, or are possible, between humans and free-living dogs. Deeply influenced by the posthuman antispeciesism, social and political theory, ethological, ecological, epistemological, ontological, semiotic, historical and geographical anti-anthropocentric orientations that are attentive to other animals, as well as numerous scientific studies and analyses on the subject, the research situates itself in the field of critical animal studies, adressing different issues related to multispecies, social and environmental justice, and analysing how relations of power and domination towards other animals operate in society.
